Sharon Gilmore Teaching Professional LPGA Instructor

Sharon Gilmore has been an LPGA member since 1993.  Her passion for the game started during her school years at Patchogue-Medford High School, in Long Island, New York.  Sharon earned a golf scholarship to Longwood College in Farmville Virginia. During her college years she gained invaluable tournament experience and also became a dedicated student of ” the golf swing.”

After graduating in 1983 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, she moved to Florida. Before pursuing a career as a golf professional, she taught high school chemistry, worked as an assistant store manager for Marshall’s Departments Store and built and operated her own restaurant.

Eventually Sharon’s love for the game of golf was so strong that she joined the LPGA and pursued a career as a golf professional. In 1995, she moved from Delray Beach Florida to take a teaching position at Hidden Lakes Golf Club. Sharon spent four years working under the supervision of well-known and respected PGA Professional Craig Shankland. In 1999, she relocated to Turnbull Bay Golf Club where she stayed for another 10 years. In August of 2011, Sharon “came back home” to Hidden Lakes Golf Club.

Sharon Gilmore is a Member of The LPGA Teaching and Club Professional (T&CP) Division. The LPGA T&CP was founded in 1959 and boasts the largest membership of women golf professionals in the world. LPGA T&CP members are certified as golf instructors, coaches and business managers through a comprehensive curriculum designed to meet the changing needs of the golfing public.
